Metronome was a leading magazine that provided up-to-date news about the popular music industry. The March 1945 issue featured Artie Shaw, Count Basie and a newcomer bandleader named Elliot Lawrence. A popular feature of the magazine was ratings of new record releases by jazz critics Barry Ulanov and Leonard Feather.
