Play It Again 2

July 14, 2020 #1978

We've resurrected several songs from the 1910's and listened to versions recorded decades later. Some of the songs were originally released on Blue Amberol cylinders, one of Thomas A. Edison's many inventions. I have just one in my collection and nothing to play it on. But it makes for a nice conversation starter in my studio.

Edison Blue Amberol cylinders were still in use back in the 1910s, but 78-rpm discs were already competing for shelf space and soon won out completely.
